About

Maps from the words people actually use

Most rules about places are written down, not drawn. A delivery contract lists the cities it covers, a tax law names counties, a taxi decree describes its fare zone in a paragraph. Somebody then has to turn that text into a shape a computer can check, and that step is slow, manual and easy to get wrong at the edges.

Geocode AI does that step. Boundaries gives you the polygon of any administrative area in the world, from OpenStreetMap, in one call. Areas reads a description (a sentence, or a clause from a contract or policy) and builds the polygon from real boundaries, or refuses and tells you exactly why. We would rather return a 422 than a guess.

We built it for software and for the AI agents that increasingly write it: every operation has the same name and input on the REST API, the MCP server, the CLI and the Claude and Codex plugins, with descriptions written for a model choosing a tool.

Who we are

Geocode AI is made by Meter (meterapp.co), founded by Jonathan Osacky and Thomas. We also run the Car Image API. We're a small team and we read every email: jonathan@geocodeai.dev.
